How it Works
HOTSPOTS
Our network is powered by the Helium Hotspot. It collects data from smart devices over large distances using secure, open-source LoRaWAN technology. Hotspots are rewarded with credits convertible to USD.
LOW-POWERED
A single Hotspot provides coverage to thousands of smart devices using the power of one LED light bulb and a small amount of Wi-Fi bandwidth. Only 50-100 Hotspots are needed to provide coverage for an entire city.
PEER-TO-PEER
Hotspot hosts are building the world’s first truly peer-to-peer wireless network. Hotspots work together using secure blockchain technology and end-to-end encryption, with no help from the ISPs or Big Tech.
